SPC — Online Help v26.10.28.0 ← Back to SPC

Main menu panel

This panel is divided into seven tabs: File, Simulate, View, Show, Utilities, License, Help. Buttons with a small arrow open a list (for example the recent files) or further related commands.

File

Load project
Selects the project to open for the simulation. The arrow opens the list of the recent projects.
Save project
Saves the project.
Save project as
Saves the project with a new name.
Export project
Creates a ZIP file containing the project and all the NC files and parts it needs, ready to be shared.
Load machine
Selects the machine for the simulation. The arrow opens the list of the installed machines.
Load part
Imports parts, stocks and fixtures for the simulation. The arrow opens the list of the recent parts.
Load NC file
Imports the NC file to be simulated. The arrow opens the list of the recent NC files.
Load CL/APT file
Imports a CL/APT file and converts it with the post-processor before the simulation. The arrow opens the list of the recent CL files.

SPC can also be closed with Exit in the traditional main menu or by closing the window.

Simulate

Clear log
Clears the Measures window.
Get point coordinates
Picks a point in the 3D view and returns its coordinates relative to the active origin and to the machine origin.
Get points distance
Picks two points in the 3D view and returns their distance and the distances projected on X, Y and Z. The results of both commands are written in the Measures window, which stays open over the main window between a measure and the next one; close it with its X.
To start
Simulates the NC file from the selected line up to the first line.
Previous
Moves the machine to the previous block of the NC file.
Stop
Stops the running simulation.
Next
Simulates the next block of the NC file.
To end
Simulates the NC file from the selected line down to the last line. The arrow opens the RAPID only commands and Simulate to line..., described in the Simulation panel.
Check collisions
Enables/disables the collision check during the simulation.
Stop on collisions
Enables/disables the stop when a collision is detected.
Check overtravels
Enables/disables the overtravel check during the simulation.
Stop on overtravels
Enables/disables the stop when an overtravel is detected.

View

Perspective
Switches between perspective and parallel (isometric) projection.
Auxiliary
Sets the auxiliary view.
Isometric
Sets the isometric view.
Top
Sets the top view.
Front
Sets the front view.
Right
Sets the right view.
Bottom
Sets the bottom view.
Left
Sets the left view.
Back
Sets the back view.
Tool view (CTRL+T)
Divides the 3D view: the main view on the left and the view from the tool tip, along the tool axis, on the right (see Tool view).
Split view (CTRL+D)
Divides the 3D view into two views of the scene, each with its own camera (see Split view).
Section view
Shows the bar of the graphic section planes X, Y, Z and Tool axis (see Section view).
Shading
Sets the shaded rendering.
Wireframe
Sets the wireframe rendering.
Hidden lines
Sets the hidden lines rendering.

Show

Parts
Shows/hides the parts.
Toolpath
Shows/hides the toolpath.
Floor
Shows/hides the floor.
Machine datum
Shows/hides the machine origin.
Parts datums
Shows/hides the origins of the parts.
Toolpath datum
Shows/hides the origin of the toolpath.
Base
Shows/hides the fixed elements of the machine.
Tables
Shows/hides the machine tables.
Heads
Shows/hides the machine heads.
Transparent tool
Enables/disables the transparency of the tool.
Checked toolpath
Shows the verified toolpath, drawn while the simulation runs.
Unchecked toolpath
Shows the whole toolpath of the NC file, not yet verified.
Rainbow toolpath
Shows the whole toolpath with rainbow colors that change along the order of execution, from the first to the last block.
Isocline toolpath
Shows the whole toolpath colored by the tool orientation, that is by the angles of the rotary axes A, B and C.
Toolpath by tool
Shows the whole toolpath with a different color for each tool.
Failed toolpath
After a simulation with collisions or overtravels, shows only the verified toolpath of the blocks with problems, plus a number of context blocks before and after each of them (set with the trackbar below the Report). In this view Next, Previous, Home and To end do not change the verified toolpath, the report or the stock. The view stays available until the next simulation, a new parsing of the file or the cleanup of the project. It opens automatically at the end of a simulation with collisions or overtravels, also a partial one or one stopped by Stop. While the view is active, the Toolpath analysis tab of the simulation panel is selected.

The toolpath views (Checked, Unchecked, Rainbow, Isocline, By tool, Failed) are exclusive: only the chosen view is drawn. Clicking the toolpath in the 3D view selects the corresponding block, considering only the segments shown by the active view.
