SPC — Online Help v26.10.28.0 ← Back to SPC

License

SPC uses a network license (seat) provided by the AV License Server. The license is requested when SPC starts and released when it closes; if the License Server restarts, SPC logs in again automatically. Without a License Server, SPC can use a stand-alone license.

The License window opens with Main menu panel › License › License.

Stand-alone license

Without a License Server, SPC can run with a stand-alone license: a license file (.lic) issued by your vendor for one computer. When a valid stand-alone license is present, SPC uses it at startup without connecting to the License Server; if it is not valid (issued for another computer, expired, system clock moved back...) SPC uses the License Server as usual and shows why the file was refused. With a stand-alone license borrowing is not needed.

Without a valid license

If no license is available (License Server not configured or not reachable, all seats in use, license expired) only the License and Help commands stay enabled and the License window opens at startup. If the license is lost while working, a warning is shown and the user interface is disabled until the license becomes available again.
