Debugging scripts
SPP includes a full script debugger, so adapting a configuration to a new machine is a normal debugging session rather than trial and error.
Commands| F9 | Compile and execute the script from the beginning. |
| Ctrl+F9 | Compile the script without running it. |
| F5 | Toggle a breakpoint on the current editor line. |
| F8 | Run the current line and move on without entering called functions. |
| F7 | Step Into Run the current line, entering any function it calls. |
| F2 | Pause Pause execution. |
| Ctrl+F2 | Stop debugging and reset the script. |
When the script stops on a breakpoint, the watch tree in the Script panel fills in with the live post-processor state, organised as:
- APT — Line, Command, Parameters of the APT/CL instruction currently being processed.
- SPP
- POST — Author, Date, Notes
- MACHINE — ToolVector, ToolPlane, MachineType
- KINEMATIC — per axis: Name, Type, Vector, Available, Min, Max, Inverted
- STROKES — per linear axis: Name, Min, Max, Inverted
- COMMENTS — Start, End
- FORMATS — Sign, Leading, Trailing, Integers, Decimals, Separator, Zero
- CODES — Name, Code, Format
- GCODES — Index, Code, Modal
- MCODES — Index, Code
- SEQNO — On, Start, Increment, Max, Active
- PARTNO
- FROM — X, Y, Z
- PLANE
- MULTAX
- RAPID
- CYCLE — On, Exploded, Mode, Depth, Feed, Feed mode, Approach, Clear, Return, Retract plane, Dwell, Incr
- POSITION LAST — Move mode, XYZ (X/Y/Z), ABC (A/B/C)
In short: tool position, active codes, the active cycle and the machine kinematics are all visible in the watch tree the moment execution pauses.
